Mercy Johnson says Thank You to her fans

A thank you message from Mercy Johnson Okojie to her fans. Read below...
‘I want to say thank you to the fans, friends, colleagues and producers who were there for me. Many of them proved to be friends on and off work. Many adjusted their schedules for me and sent in their greetings during the child dedication. I resumed work this week with grateful heart and understanding that I am here because God through the help of people made it possible. Or how could I explain the overwhelming votes I got at AMVCA despite been away and inactivity on social media? How could I explain the numbers of producers and scripts waiting for my return? How could I explain the overwhelming love and gifts while I was away? I am very grateful and here to say a big thank you to everyone who played a role and those who as much as had good wishes in their hearts. Thank you and God bless you’
Mercy officially resumed work this week, she is back on location with director and producer, Elvis Chucks. This is MJ’s first job since giving birth in December.

AMVCA: Mercy Johnson halts Akindele’s winning streak

Afeez Ayetoro

Who are the funniest actors in Africa?
The AfricaMagic Viewers’Choice Awards held on Saturday may have provided an answer to this question. Although there are some upsets, the emergence of Afeez Oyetoro, aka Saka, as the Best Actor in Comedy is one that many people will not bother to contest.

While the judgement is based on his role in House Apart, Saka’s exploits in various films, TV dramas and adverts in recent times have paved the way for his victory.   What, however, surprises some viewers is the victory of Mercy Johnson over Funke Akindele, who many have now associated with comedy based on her performance in Jenifa.

The fact is that the award is based on the role that each of them played in specific films– Johnson in Dumebi the Dirty Girls.

Other big winners at the event held at the Eko Hotel include Ghanaian Jackie Appiah (Best Actress – Drama) for Perfect Picture,  and his compatriot OC Ukeje (Best Actor – Drama) for Two Brides and a Baby.

The Best Supporting Cast in a Drama went to Uganda’s Matthew Nabwiso for A Good Catholic Girl and Kenya’s Maureen Koech for Lies That Bind. The prestigious award for Best Director went to Akin Omotoso for Man on Ground. The announcement of the winners of the hotly-contested Best Movie Overall and Best Television categories produced a big ovation of the night, with Otelo Burning and The XYZ Show scooping top honours.

The AMVCAs, held in association with MultiChoice and sponsored by Amstel Malta, sought to recognise Africa’s best film and television talent in a glittering three and a half-hour ceremony was hosted by Big Brother’s IK Osakioduwa and StarGist’s Vimbai Muntinhiri.

Managing Director, M-Net Africa MD Biola Alabi, said, “It has been a wonderful night.   Fantastic performers, glittering fashion, deserving winners; it has been a night of huge excitement and emotion.  Most importantly, it’s been a true celebration of African film and television, a fitting platform for the stars of our continent, both in front and behind the cameras.”

Mercy Johnson Advices Loose Ladies

Some ladies have lost their thinking caps. Some found it but unable to use it. Must you clock 35 before you stop partying here & there? You already know all Eateries/ Hotels in town! You even know the tastes of their various ice-creams, pepper-soups, shawamas, etc.

And you can tell the prices of their beers and wines offhand. Funny, you're singing “No man is responsible.”
*Which responsible man drinks to stupour and clubs every weekend? *Which responsible man samples you and your slutty friends randomly?
*Which responsible man sags with dog's chains on his neck and tattoos on his body?
Ask your self; “Is the guy I'm currently dating my dream man?”

Dear sisters,
If you are living your life as above, my dear, you are living a life of mirage. Be real! Humble yourself and so you will be raised.

The so called "responsible men" you are searching for are not in the clubs and hotels, you won't find them at the weekly birthday 'bashes', weekend beach crashing or pool-side jamborees loitering around women of easy virtues, drunkards and men of questionable characters. They are busy; in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges studying hard for the life after school, and in the offices, workshops, and on business trips striving hard to make life better for their families and better than they've met it.
Use that brain Sweet Sisters! It's for thinking. -
Mercy Johnson.

Actress, Mercy Johnson Happy Over Baby’s Arrival, To Return Next Month

It is no longer news that the A-list actress, Mercy Johnson, delivered a baby girl on New Year eve at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, USA.

It might interest you to know that her hubby, Prince Odi Osagie, is ecstatic at her safe delivery, so much that he was the first to relay the news to close family members and well-wishers in Nigeria.

In a telephone chat with LIFE & BEAT, the ‘brand new’ mother said, “Words alone cannot describe the joy in my heart right now. Like they say, no pain, no gain.

When the nurse handed me the baby, I shed tears of joy. It is like winning an award bigger and better than the Oscar. Really, nothing compares to bringing a child into the world.

It is an experience worth having. My sincere appreciation to all my well-wishers for their love and prayers.”

Meanwhile, the child dedication and thanksgiving will wait till the couple and the baby arrive in Nigeria.

It would be recalled that the Kogi State-born thespian and her Edo State-born prince were joined together in a fairytale wedding ceremony that took place in Lagos on Aug. 27, 2011
