The sad news of the death of musician Peter Banks is making headline news in the UK.
Banks has died at his home in London on Tuesday, the Guardian reports.
The Guardian headline read, "Yes guitarist Peter Banks dies aged 65
"Founding member of the British progressive rock band Yes and its original guitarist, has died at his home in London"
Peter Banks was the original guitarist for the group “Yes.”
His cause of death was heart failure. His body was found after he failed to appear for a recording session.
Banks had previously played with bassist Chris Squire in The Syn, He was part of “Yes” when the group recorded its first two albums, 1969's Yes and 1970's Time and a Word.
He was asked to leave the group and was replaced by Steve Howe.
“Yes” issued the following statement: "We are deeply saddened to learn about the passing of fellow bandmate and founding Yes member Peter Banks. He was a huge piece of the fabric that made Yes what it is, and our thoughts, sincere condolences, and prayers are with him and his family. Peter, we shall miss you greatly."time.
